Hertzfeldt visiting Ragtag

Posted by Winter on October 13, 2008

Oscar nominated animator Don Hertzfeldt is coming to Ragtag to show some of his short films and his newest film as well. It’s all happening October 22nd at 7:30pm, and the cost is $10. From the Ragtag website:

This is so exciting we can’t stand it. For the last eight years, we have tried to lure cult animator Don Hertzfeldt to Columbia ever since we screened the devilishly macabre Billy’s Balloon. Now with an Oscar nomination in hand for Rejected, Don hits the road this fall for a rare series of one-night-only events: A selection of Don’s classic animated shorts return to the big screen, culminating in the exclusive regional premiere of his newest film, I am so proud of you. His longest piece to date, it is the eagerly anticipated second chapter to Everything will be OK, winner of Sundance’s best short award short. The screening will be immediately followed by a live on-stage interview and audience chat. Advance tix are available now.

Update: The Missourian has a story about the upcoming event.
Update two:
The Missourian has another story about how the event went.
