Superhero trends spring 2009

Posted by Winter on May 17, 2009

I’ve noticed that “superhero” themes are becoming more mainstream this last year. We’ve reported on a few of these items here and there (and here too) because they’re somewhat comic related. Here’s a collection of some more superhero stuff I’ve noticed around Columbia recently:

This February, Stephens College fashion students did a “Marvelous” super hero themed fashion show:

Green Mobile has been advertising its wares with a “Green Mobile” superhero:

First National Bank had an advertising campaign that ran in the Columbia Business Times for a while. This is an ad from February 7th:

Cleanup Columbia had a superhero theme this year:

Inside Columbia magazine had a feature on Columbia heroes in January:

The Vox had series of stories on crime that they titled the Justice League of Columbia on April 23rd. They later went with a non-superhero design, but one of the early cover designs is comic related:

While we don’t have a superhero like Kansas City does, there has been a superhero appearance here recently. The special learning center in Jeff City had a visit by Batman on April 7th:

I wonder if he’ll show up at the Superhero bats to the rescue program at Rock Bridge State Park this August?
