Local creator Rob Davis is a freelance artist of many capabilities. Starting his carreer in the 1980s, he’s drawn pages for many companies including Innovation Comics, Malibu Comics, Marvel Comics & Caliber Comics. His latest work is the recently released Robyn of Sherwood graphic novel. You can check out his main website or follow his blog.
What are you working on now comics-wise?
As an artist I’m working on a couple of short 6-8 page stories for a comic I publish called All-Star Pulp Comics. One story features a new Pulp character in the Solomon Kane ( a Puritan age sword-weilding avenger) mold called Gideon Cain. The other is Robin Hood tale. The book usually has 4-6 short stories in it depending on whether everyone who’s promised to contribute can do so in a timely manner. I hope this second issue will be out by the end of 2012. I’m also a print-on-demand publisher of comics via Ka-Blam and IndyPlanet.com via my Redbud Studio Comics imprint. Mr. Jigsaw, a Ron Fortier/Gary Kato creation, and a graphic novel called Daughter of Dracula that Ron wrote and I drew and lettered were published there as well as a couple of other books.

Local comic artist Rob Davis is one of the artists on the newly completed “Robyn of Sherwood” Graphic Novel. The book is written by Paul Storrie with art by Rob Davis, Michael C. Larson and Thom Zahler. Here’s a blurb from Davis’ site:
In this introductory story, Robyn and the remaining “Merry Men” take on King John and the latest man to hold the mantle of Sheriff of Notingham. Will the famed outlaw’s daughter live up to the legend and triumph over King and Sheriff or will she and the aging outlaw band go down in defeat?
You can buy the book on Indy Planet for $9.99.
